Renuka Advani leads Studio MRS with a vision that merges forward-thinking innovation with deep artisanal heritage. After a 15-year career in corporate affairs, she entered the embroidery industry in 2003, bringing a unique blend of business acumen and creative sensibility to the world of luxury craftsmanship.
At Studio MRS LLP, Renuka pioneered the integration of hand and machine embroidery—a defining approach that has expanded creative possibilities while optimizing production for contemporary fashion markets. Combining design intuition with strategic foresight, she has guided the studio’s evolution across major fashion capitals including Paris, New York, and London.

Sharmila Thapar brings creative depth to Studio MRS. Having been in the embroidery business since 2000, she plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Italian market while contributing significantly to the creative direction of Studio MRS LLP.
Her keen design sensibility and meticulous attention to detail shape the studio’s creative output, ensuring that every piece reflects the highest standards of artistry and refinement. She also oversees the studio’s extensive design archives—an integral part of the business that preserves decades of artisanal excellence and serves as a foundation for future innovation.
Sharmila is deeply involved in the studio’s sustainability initiatives, ensuring that all leftover fabrics and materials are thoughtfully repurposed into new creations—honouring both craft and conscience.
